  2. Miniature items: includes up to 6 related items of furniture, needlecraft, dolls, pottery, paintings, flowers, toys etc. Note: more than 6 related items in a dressed setting will be considered within the first category.
  3. Smaller Scales: items of any type in scales smaller than 1:12

In the event that there are fewer than 6 entries in any one category the remaining items will be added to one of the remaining categories.

  • All attendees to the show will receive one ballot and will be invited to vote for their favourite displays.
  • Each ballot includes the option to select a favourite display within each of the categories plus a favourite overall.
  • Best in Show: will be awarded to the display which receives the highest score from all categories.
PRIZES:
  • 1st place in all categories plus Best in Show will receive prizes by Canadian miniature artisans.
  • Prizes will be awarded through winner selection; i.e., the Best-in-Show winner will select from the prize offering first, followed by the first-place winners.
  • The order of selection among first-place winners will be determined by a draw.
  • All winners plus honourable mentions receive prize ribbons commemorating their achievement.
  • Winners will be announced at the show at 4:00 p.m.
JUDGING:
  • Prizes will be awarded based on the highest number of votes received from the attending public.
  • Voters will be instructed to choose what they love, with the following points for consideration:
  • Creativity: how imaginative is the subject matter?
  • Technical Skill: How well made and neatly constructed is the piece?
  • Representation of the Theme: how well does it represent what the artist intended, based on the information they've supplied?
  • Original Work: Although not every element needs to be handmade by you, viewers will be asked to award special consideration to exhibits that feature original work.
PREVIOUS WINNERS:
  • Exhibits that received 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize in the previous year's (2024) Viewers' Choice Awards may be submitted for display only and will not be considered for an award.
DISPLAY ONLY:
  • If you would like to participate but prefer not to compete, please let us know and we'll display your submission in a separate area within the room.
AND FINALLY:
  • If you are wondering if your latest kit-bashed mini, room box of things you have collected, or first project ever is good enough to display -- YES, IT IS!
  • MET's goal is to celebrate this wonderful hobby in all its forms.
  • If you love it, there is no doubt that others will too.
  • Your work may even inspire someone to take on a project of their own!
